Using the Questionnaire

Totem contains a Questionnaire workflow for users to perform a rapid self-assessment against their CMMC L1 (FAR 52.204-21) or CMMC L2 (NIST SP 800-171) implementation. This is an especially helpful feature for organizations that are new on their compliance journey and need to quickly generate a score.

To perform a self-assessment using the Totem Questionnaire:

  • Log in to Totem.
  • Navigate to the Control Status module.
  • Select Questionnaire.
  • The questionnaire will contain layperson interpretations for all relevant security controls, formulated as a question.
    • Answering Yes to a question will immediately mark all Organization Actions (assessment objectives) as Trending Met. No points will be subtracted.
    • Answering No to a question will immediately mark all Organization Actions (assessment objectives) as Not Met. The respective point value will be subtracted from your total score of 110.

Important Notes

  • If you’ve already started your self-assessment via the Controls page, using the Questionnaire will overwrite whatever assessment status you have in Controls.
