What is the Roadmap module?

Roadmap is a new module introduced in Totem™ release 5.0. Using Roadmap, your organization can track its CMMC implementation through several strategic milestones, giving the organization a better picture of its current CMMC progress and the remaining steps. Roadmap was built specifically for organizations targeting CMMC, and therefore will only appear when the organization has loaded the CMMC Assessment Type.

The Roadmap module allows you to:

  • Mark completion status for 12 unique milestones, culminating in your eventual CMMC certification
  • Assign responsible entities to each milestone
  • Add comments
  • View completion dates

 

Why can't I see the Roadmap module?

You may be unable to see the Roadmap module for two reasons:

  • Your organization has the ISO 27001 Assessment Type currently loaded
  • You do not have the roadmap-view permission

Please ensure that you have the CMMC Assessment Type loaded, or check that an Owner in your organization has given you the roadmap-read permission. All pre-canned roles in Totem™ are assigned this permission by default. If you've been assigned a custom role, you may not have this permission.


 

How do I complete Roadmap steps?

To complete a Roadmap step, first ensure that your organization has fulfilled the step. For clarification on any of the Roadmap objectives, please contact Support, or view our CMMC Roadmap page. Nine of the twelve Roadmap steps can be fulfilled directly within Totem™.

To mark a Roadmap step as complete, select Modify for the step you'd like to complete. Change the "Is Completed?" field to Yes. If desired, add comments and assign a responsible entity to the step either by selecting an existing user or typing a new one. Select OK.

The Roadmap step indicator will then proceed to the next step. If a Roadmap step is marked complete, yet previous steps remain not complete, the Roadmap indicator will not advance until those steps have been completed.

NOTE: Some steps within the Roadmap have checks built-in to automatically complete when your organization has done so. These steps include:

  • Build first-draft SSP
  • Perform risk assessment
  • Build Incident Response Plan
  • Build Plan of Action and Milestones
  • Test Incident Response Plan
  • Implement Corrective Actions
